Field Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and precise Field Engineer/Surveyor to join our team. This

role is critical to ensuring that site layouts, foundations, utilities, and framing are

executed with accuracy and in accordance with design intent. The Field

Engineer/Surveyor will work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and

subcontractors to provide layout, verification, and as-built documentation on custom

residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform site layout and staking for foundations, utilities, framing, hardscape, and

  • other critical elements using total station or GPS equipment

  • Verify dimensions and elevations in the field against construction documents and

  • communicate any discrepancies

  • Establish and maintain accurate control points on active job sites

  • Assist in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and transferring

  • layout information to the field

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and design professionals to

  • ensure layout aligns with design specifications

  • Provide elevation checks and progress surveys as needed throughout

  • construction phases

  • Create and maintain field records, site notes, and as-built documentation

  • Support preconstruction site assessments and assist with site logistics planning

  • Maintain survey equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality

  • Occasionally support permitting and site planning processes with accurate field

  • data

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in surveying, site engineering, or construction layout

  • (residential construction preferred)

  • Proficiency with total stations, data collectors, and GPS survey equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret site plans, construction drawings, and civil/structural

  • details

  • Strong math and spatial reasoning skills

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and safety-conscious

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
